Craig M Wood is a Tasmanian- born Composer and Musical Director.  

Besides conducting Hastings Choristers commencing 2024, Craig is the Musical Director of Macleay Music Ensemble (Kempsey), Mosaic Choir (Wauchope), The Song Circle (Port Macquarie) and a lead male vocalist with BluHyp Big Band (Port Macquarie).

A lifelong educator and arts professional, Craig is known for his theatrical stylings, high energy performance and eclectic compositions. Trained in opera, music theatre and as a skilled pianist, Craig has been involved in the creation of over 50 premier works over the course of his career, as well as contributing to many more projects as a creative director and performer.

Craig has developed and led multiple choirs, ensembles, developed educational programs and was the owner/manager of his own music school.

He is currently enjoying a quiet life on the Mid-North Coast: focused on family, music, and community.

Craig is looking forward to engaging with the repertoire Hastings Choristers is renowned for and leading the choir in vocal development and fostering a supportive and inclusive choir culture.

Members enjoy weekly rehearsals, regular performances, guest artists, social functions, and combined concerts. These features are the modus operandi of this wonderful organisation dedicated to spreading beautiful choral sounds far and wide.

Established in 1990, Hastings Choristers Inc has been at the heart of the Hastings region's cultural scene, dedicated to elevating the art of choral singing. Under the skilled guidance of Robyn Ryan OAM, our choir has flourished over three decades, diversifying our repertoire and expanding our reach.

As a mixed voice SATB choir (Soprano/Alto/Tenor/Bass) there is a place for all voices in CANTORUS. All singers, especially men, are warmly and enthusiastically welcomed to pursue their love of singing at our weekly rehearsals held at MacKillop Senior College Hall, Ocean Drive, Port Macquarie.
