Hastings Choristers invites you to a sophisticated evening of sparkling vocal harmonies for their upcoming concert, Nothing More Than Flight on Friday 13th September on the Glasshouse Mezzanine at 7.30pm.
Musical Director, Craig M Wood, has curated a repertoire of art songs where the music and the singers work in harmony to capture the moment. The audience will have the unique experience of selections from the seldom performed song cycle by P. La Villa. There will be a special performance of one of Craig’s own compositions, “The Ecchoing Green”, and further contemporary pieces, predominantly by female composers, including the transcendent notes of “Measure Me, Sky”
The popular female ensemble, Cantabile, will perform a selection of songs by Bartók, a 20th century Romanticist. Augmenting these will be a range of contemporary songs, including the ballad, “This Sky Falls”, which envelops the audience in the sense of a glorious, sustained glide through the sky.
Join us for this stylish evening to celebrate the joy and power of live choral music.
