Into the Sky
MacKillop Senior College Hall
Saturday, 29th March 2008

Hastings Choristers &  visiting youth  choir Young Voices of Melbourne  performed in a special concert on Saturday 29 March at McKillop Senior College hall  Port Macquarie.

INTO THE SKY  was a great  concert but one with a difference.....lights out to celebrate Earth Hour.

Mark O'Leary, conductor of Young Voices of Melbourne, was thrilled  at the prospect of a candlelight concert and was not disappointed - "it was a wonderfully atmospheric evening  and it was great to be part of it"  he said.

Visiting  American composer & master Hammer Dulcimer player Malcolm Dalglish was on tour with the Young Voices of Melbourne and had eagerly anticipated his first visit to Port Macquarie.

The audience enjoyed a special Saturday evening  full of Malcolm's wonderful folk music - all original compositions.

A  professional pianist and percussionist accompanied the singers  along with Malcolm  on Hammer Dulcimer.

Local choirs who participated thoroughly enjoyed  working with the repertoire and guaranteed local music lovers a concert with a difference - brim full of fabulous  folk music with a strong environmental theme.
