To commemorate the Centenary of the Battle of Villers-Bretonneux in France on 25 April 1918, Hastings Choristers presented this choral tribute to the courage, resourcefulness and sacrifice of Australian soldiers on the Western Front and at Gallipoli during World War One.
The programme (see left) featured the moving 'In Flanders Fields' and Gabriel Fauré’s 'Requiem' as well as other beautiful choral pieces and instrumental music.
The choir was notably under-pinned by former members (now professional performers) mezzo-soprano Stella Hannock and baritone Joshua Salter, accompanied by well-known international organist Heather Moen-Boyd.
