Well-known jazz group Kentucky Fried Trio joined Hastings Choristers in the Cape Ballroom at Sails Resort for this springtime concert.

The Swingin’ Sunday at Sails Concert takes place on Sunday 15 September from 4pm to 6pm. The program has something to please everyone with an afternoon of light, bright, easy-listening music. There will be plenty of swingin’ numbers plus jazz and blues, a little bit of Gospel, a few folk songs and some audience all-time favourites, such as Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen and Danny Boy. The choristers are teaming up with a Jazz Band Kentucky Fried Trio featuring Geoff Kearns on Hammond B-3, Chris Trotman on Sax, and Mark Spence on drums & percussion, together ‘making some of the sweetest sounds you'll find anywhere on the Koala Coast’ quipped Geoff. Kentucky Fried Trio perform regularly at Panthers Club on Sunday afternoons and have a regular gig in The Lounge Room bar in Port Macquarie on Thursday nights. Many will be familiar with their cool jazz style, incorporating a fusion of different sounds and mellow arrangements of some well-known songs. An audience favourite is ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ – check it out on youtube! Cantabile, Port Macquarie’s favourite female group of singers, will also be performing in the concert. With their signature harmonies and varied repertoire, Cantabile always delight and impress the audience. Another attraction is that Sails Resort is offering ticket holders to the concert a 20% discount on any meal in the Boathouse Restaurant at Sails. You could choose to have lunch or dinner before or after the concert, or you can use the discount at the Boathouse Restaurant any other day, on presentation of your ticket.
