Bach to Broadway
Glasshouse, Port Macquarie
Saturday, 31st October 2009

This was Hastings Choristers debut concert series in the Glasshouse, celebrating five centuries of amazing and much loved music.

The impressive and melodic Cantorus and Cantabile choirs and magnificent soloists were a feature of these concerts: talented locals, Amanda Gordon, John Thompson & Laura Bereicua, strutted their stuff alongside invited guest artists, soprano Jodie Goodwin and baritone Rob McDougall.

Jodie's sister Julie Godwin had also been billed to appear, having just completed a 2 year, 200-performance Australasian tour in the role of Christine Daae in Phantom of the Opera. To the audiences' great disappointment, Julie was unfortunately ill and could not take part this time.

The Bach to Broadway repertoire was wide-ranging from popular classics to Broadway hits and everything in between with something for every musical taste.

Patrons thrilled to the uplifting Anthem from Chess whilst toe-tapping along to Fever and the Gospel Waitin for the Light to Shine plus much more.
